About Me
Leah received her BFA in video and sound from The Art Institute of Chicago in 2017. Because of her strong focus in artful cinematography, Leah was hired to shoot multiple projects while in the city. Most notably she was the Director of Photography for Chris Sullivan’s The Orbit of Minor Satellites (2020) and Jina Park’s Aleph (2019).
Craving a “just turn the camera on and go” style of shooting that would allow her to capture moments rather than control them, Leah decided to leave Chicago and pursue independent video journalism. In the spring of 2018 Leah began her feature length documentary Kubiando about Spoutwood Farm in Pennsylvania and its annual Fairy Festival. In the meantime she has also produced two personal mini series: These Are Slow Days (2019); a video journal documenting her time as the primary caretaker of her dementia stricken grandmother, and Spoutwood Journal (2020); a behind the scenes look at her stay at Spoutwood Farm .
As Kubiando enters its final stages of post production, Leah continues to use her curiosity and camera to explore places and connect to the people within them.
