Emily Apter

• About Me

  Emily is Brooklyn based curator, filmmaker, and projectionist. She currently works as a film programmer and grant-writer for the Maysles Documentary Center, a non-profit cinema and education center founded by Albert Maysles. Emily is the former Assistant to the Director at the NYC Film-Makers’ Cooperative, where she assisted with the distribution, curation, and archiving of their collection of 16mm experimental films. She is a graduate of Wesleyan University's film studies program. Landscape, labor, image-making and archival practice are core themes of her curatorial and filmmaking work.
