About Me
If I started at the beginning I’d just confuse you, so I’ll tell you about right now.
In the broadest sense of the world I'm a storyteller. I produce write, shoot and edit short films, corporate promos, and little stories about people, places, and things, in New York City.
I also rock out like a bastard with my band Thee Shambels and I've just finished a short film based on my music.
I joined the Masters in Fine Arts program Hunter College in New York , where I'm enrolled in the Integrated Media Arts course making documentaries. I suppose it's rooted in my career in newspapers, but I'm still drawn to everyday drama. My films record he small triumphs and calamities that befall real people in the world around me. Stories that are often ignored, and mistaken for footnotes in our lives. In selecting stories, I look for open ended third acts - tales that are not finished in the telling.
I’ve been a bartender, a barista, a photojournalist, a stage manager and an usher in the theatre. I’ve put up drywall and sold air conditioners.. It’s a lot I know, sometimes I wake up and wonder who I am and what I’m supposed to be today. But that’s why they invented coffee.
